With the successful organization of the First National Annual Congress on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and its widespread reception from across the country—including universities, scientific societies, the Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Red Crescent Society, the medical community, healthcare professionals, and other relevant organizations—and in recognition of the need to further advance standardized CPR education nationwide, the following resolutions were unanimously approved during the closing ceremony of the congress by the attending officials, distinguished faculty members, and honored guests.
In light of the expansion of its activities and nationwide development, the official name of the Fars Comprehensive Standard CPR Training Center (IRC-FCTC) is hereby changed to the Iranian Resuscitation Center (IRC).
Henceforth, centers established in other provinces and cities across the country, upon receiving authorization from the Iranian Resuscitation Center (IRC), shall retain the IRC designation while being identified by the addition of a regional identifier.
All future centers shall likewise be named in accordance with this framework. This designation is intended to unify the national organizational structure, strengthen the national identity of resuscitation services, and expand the network of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education and services throughout the country.
Based on its distinguished scientific, educational, and executive achievements, its leading role in standardizing resuscitation training, educating specialized healthcare professionals, and developing a nationwide network of provincial centers, the Iranian Resuscitation Center (IRC) is hereby officially recognized as the National Center of Excellence for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in Iran and as the country's leading institution for standardized CPR education.
During the closing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, in the presence of senior national officials, university presidents, and distinguished faculty members, emphasized the vital role of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education in saving patients' lives. In recognition of his lasting contributions to the advancement of resuscitation education across the country, the honorary title of "Father of Resuscitation Science in Iran" was conferred upon Mansour Masjedi.
